Happy the Man

HAPPY the MAN
Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call today his own:
He who, secure within can say,
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.
Be fair or foul or rain or shine
The joys I have possessed, in spite of fate, are mine.
Not Heaven itself upon the past has power,
But what has been, has been, and I have had my hour.
- John Dryden
translation of Horace, Odes, Book III, xxix

so. the days just happen. given up on being sanity-conscious. you know, the law of conservation of energy can actually apply to reality, other than physics. it states that:
Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transferred from one form (anxiety, undue nerve-wreckage) to another (the will to carry on. haha) provided physical conditions (always been this hot, always been this high) are kept constant (to a certain extent that is).

anyway this June holds the record for being the most productive and fulfilling one-month break in my academic life so far. highly likely that this record will be effortlessly broken into smithereens two years down the road though. haha maybe cos urm, it's the As? still, i had my delicious share of work and play lahh, (of course, the latter whets my appetite more) with camps, sleepover, bonding (feel the lurvvve), making new friends and haha staying in touch with mugging clique. cant sleep in peace without settling the exciting details of our next study session.
to the regular members of study grp, all the way, grad is just around the corner. :D self-discipline, i've learnt, is all it takes. cultivate it.

the hw list has become my calendar. today is finish-both-HCL-papers- day. bonus if compo and letter is completed. plus my clock's been functioning with respect to the time i strike off an item on my list to the next time i do so. wah the prospect of waking up to such a marvellous brand new day fills me with great joy. what more can i ask for.

darn the naughty cats howling at this time. do it somewhere else lahh.

// but more than all(as all your more than eyes tell me) there is a time for timelessness

-E.E. Cummings
